Biopix by Eramet is the first ever photo contest of Eramet, designed to raise its employees’ awareness of one of the Group’s CSR priorities:  taking actions for the planet.

Last May, on World Biodiversity Day, the first ever in-house Eramet photo contest was launched by Frédérique Desmoulins, HSE & CSR Project Coordinator and biodiversity officer at Group Eramet. The contest had one goal in mind: to capture the natural diversity and richness that can be found around our mines and factories, in order to encourage employees to help protect biodiversity in their daily actions. Suffice it say, this goal has been a major success.

A testament to these remarkable environments, the photos from our amateur photographers offer a majestic and atypical panorama of the countries and regions where the Group operates. In one month, hundred of photos from 39 different sites (France, Gabon, Argentina, Norway, New Caledonia) were posted on the Biopix by Eramet platform. Virginie de Chassey, the Group’s Communications & Sustainable Development Director and a member of the jury, was impressed by the strong turnout for the contest,: “The high rate of participation in this photo contest shows how important the protection of biodiversity is for Eramet employees. Our mining and metallurgical activities oblige us to act. Ensuring that our actions are founded on responsibility and sustainable development is the most effective means of reaching our objective: sustainable performance.”
