The 51st Paris Air Show attracted record visitor numbers and, as always, was a special meeting place for Aubert & Duval and its customers and partners.

More than 350,000 people flocked to Le Bourget airport from June 15th to 21st, 2015. Professionals and the general public together set an attendance record at the Paris Air Show.

Beyond visitor numbers, the event is an unmissable shop window for aerospace players, as well as a unique place to meet customers and partners.

KNOW-HOW AND INNOVATION

Aubert & Duval’s stand showcased the company’s industrial know-how by featuring closed die-forged parts, titanium, powders, additive manufacturing (3D printing) powders and long products. Another highlight was the turbine shaft for Safran’s LEAP engines, made from ML 340, an ultra-high performance steel designed jointly by Snecma and Aubert & Duval.

Presentations took an interactive approach through touch screens that took visitors to virtual showrooms explaining our products and processes.

For the first time, the stand featured an original animation on the long product range. Visitors could touch one of the 5 bars on show to launch a video explaining the bar’s journey from design at Aubert & Duval through to its end use.

TITANIUM STREAM EXPANDS WITH MKAD

The Paris Air Show was also an opportunity for Aubert & Duval and Mécachrome to announce the creation of MKAD, a joint venture that specialises in finishing aviation-grade titanium parts. With MKAD, Aubert & Duval and Mécachrome are building on the combination of Aubert & Duval, UKTMP and UKAD to form a fully integrated channel for closed die-forged, aviation-grade titanium parts, from mining through to delivery of finished parts.
