The 3rd New York Forum Africa (NYFA) took place from May 23rd to 25th in Libreville, Gabon. Several hundred people attended to discuss the topic “Transforming a Continent”. The ERAMET Groupe and its local subsidiaries took part to present their activities and projects.

For ERAMET, New York Forum Africa 2014 was an opportunity to present its Gabonese projects to various partners. With more than 50 years’ presence in Gabon through its subsidiary COMILOG, the Groupe produces manganese ore and sinter in Moanda. and is currently developing two new production plants in the country, one dedicated to silicomanganese, a manganese alloy, and the other to manganese metal. It is also looking into the mining of a polymetallic deposit with its subsidiary Maboumine. Moreover, ERAMET is closely involved in local development. For example, it is supporting the creation of Moanda Mining & Metallurgical School, which will train engineers and skilled technicians.

For this major business event, representatives of each of the Groupe’s local subsidiaries (COMILOG, Maboumine, SETRAG, SODEPAL and SOMIVAB) were on a joint information stand. ERAMET’s participation also included a contribution by Pietro Amico, the Groupe’s general representative in Gabon, to a panel on public-private partnerships.
