SLN has again just shipped 20,300 tonnes of SLAND to Houston, Texas, for use in industrial sandblasting and painting activities. An export that confirms the business potential of this ferronickel by-product.

42,300 tonnes! That is how much SLAND SLN sold in record time: indeed, this second sale of SLAND takes place only 6 months after the first one, in the summer of 2020.

This is one more step in favour of the circular economy, which is one of the 13 objectives of the Eramet group’s 2018-2023 CSR roadmap. This ferronickel by-product was previously little recycled: thanks to this new outlet and other projects such as the recycling of furnace dust from the French Comilog Dunkerque plant, the Group has already met – and even exceeded – one of its targets, namely 10,000 tonnes of waste recycled in 3 years (double its initial target) and intends to raise its ambition in 2021.
