January 23, two societal projects supported by Comilog have been initiated in Moanda in the presence of the Gabonese Prime Minister Mr. Julien Nkoghe Bekale and of Christel Bories, CEO of Eramet. An illustration of the contributive action of the Groupe for its host communities.

“Eramet and the Gabonese State are fully aware of the great expectations of the communities around us, and encourage us to work harder for their benefit“, those were the words of Leod Paul Batolo, CEO of Comilog, during the opening of two building sites, in which Comilog is partner.

In accordance with the Groupe’s CSR roadmap, those projects are aimed at:

  • rehabilitating the 3.6km-long main road of Moanda, thanks to an 8-month work and an investment of FCFA3.9 billion.
  • building a housing estate of 400 residential units, where the populations of the Leyima and Lekolo 2 Districts, located in the perimeter of the Comilog 2020 project, will be relocated. This construction will cost almost FCFA10 billion and will involve twenty national and local companies during two years.

Christel Bories praised these two projects: “Those actions are an integral part of Eramet’s strategy, committed and contributive corporate citizen. In Gabon, we are planning important developments for the future: in partnership with Gabonese State, our goal is to consolidate the country’s position as leader of the manganese ore, to become an undisputed world champion of profitable and responsible manganese extraction. Our commitment for the communities is at the heart of this strategy.“
