A French delegation visited China in September 2013 in order to examine the management of chemicals in China. This travel enabled the delegation members to meet representatives of the AICM, an association which represents around 50 international chemicals companies. It ended with the visit of the ERAMET Groupe GECC Chongzuo site.

For the eight members of this delegation from the ministries of ecology and industry, ANSES (French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety) and Ineris (French National Institute for Industrial Environments and Risks), this mission had two goals. The first was to learn and understand the Chinese authorities’ perception of the European REACH legislation, whilst the second was to gain a clearer overview of Chinese regulatory practices and any future changes.

ERAMET is delighted that this visit enabled to promote one of its industrial installations but also to showcase its environmental policy and to discuss the issues involved.
