SLN has been an expert in nickel mining and beneficiation in New Caledonia for more than 130 years. It hadn’t updated its website since 2007 but now the ERAMET Groupe subsidiary can reach all audiences with a sustainable vision of its activities.

SLN launched the new website in June to enable all audiences, whether professionals or novices, to understand its activities. With fuller information, a clearer organisation and a more user-friendly design, www.sln.nc is a showcase for the company’s activities and history, but also for its vision of the future.

The topic of responsibility is featured from three angles:

  • Business, with a presentation of the mining and metallurgical process, from prospecting through to marketed products via mining operation, ore processing and transport;
  • Environment, with a presentation of SLN’s environmental commitments and examples of actions taken at mines or in the Doniambo plant (protecting biodiversity, site remediation, waste sorting, etc.);
  • People, with a presentation of the company’s commitments to its employees (safety, training) but also the projects it supports with local stakeholders to foster New Caledonia’s development.

SLN’s latest news is also covered and there is a specific section for all its “official” publications (annual reports, press releases, FAQ, videos).

In addition to its own activities, SLN’s website features an “About nickel” section. Visitors can learn about nickel ore’s geological origins, its global presence and its applications in our daily lives.

With its examples, photos and illustrations, the new website reflects SLN’s will to help people learn about its activities and its role as a responsible corporate citizen of New Caledonia.
