A roadmap to realise our ambitions

Driven by its corporate purpose, Eramet’s CSR commitment has gradually taken shape since 2019 with its first roadmap, whose objectives have for the most part been met or even exceeded. The Group has renewed its commitments in 2024 through a new, even more ambitious “Act for Positive Mining” roadmap, for a corporate project that applies to all our entities in every country.

Improving our environmental impact

The mining industry faces major environmental challenges. Water management, reduction of atmospheric emissions, biodiversity… Eramet has made strong commitments to reduce the impact of its activities.

Eramet on the path to decarbonization

Mineral extraction and processing emit large quantities of CO2. Faced with the urgency of climate change, Eramet is stepping up measures to help reduce global warming, in line with the Paris Agreement.

Involvement with local communities means contributing to their development priorities, but also engaging in intensive dialogue with them beforehand, and managing all the impacts of our activities that are likely to affect them.

Eramet actively supports the economic development of the regions in which it operates. Its activity benefits the economies of nearly 20 countries around the world.

ESG Reporting

All the indicators used to measure Eramet’s CSR performance are made available in a reporting tool that enables changes in the Group’s environmental, social and governance data to be analysed.

Vigilance plan

In accordance with French law no. 2017-399 of March 27, 2017 on the duty of vigilance of parent companies and ordering companies, Eramet publishes a vigilance plan setting out how the Group meets the requirements of this legislation (human rights and fundamental freedoms, health and safety, serious environmental damage).

The scope of this plan covers all the Group’s entities (parent company and directly or indirectly controlled companies) and their suppliers and subcontractors.

This scope is described in the chapter of the Group’s Universal Registration Document devoted to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), the Extra-Financial Performance Statement.

Eramet’s vigilance plan was published in the Reference Document 2017.

Since then, it has been included each year in that publication, together with its implementation report linked to Eramet’s annual Extra-Financial Performance Statement.

The Eramet Group is attentive to the expectations of its stakeholders with regard to its plan.
