The 50th International Paris Air Show took place at Paris-Le Bourget from June 17th to 23rd, 2013. ERAMET’s subsidiary Aubert & Duval was there in force to spotlight its know-how.
The Paris Air Show is held every two years at Le Bourget airfield, north of the French capital. Since the first exhibition over a century ago, it has become an unmissable global event for every major firm in the aerospace sector. For the 2013 show, more than 2,000 exhibitors from around the world met more than 130,000 trade visitors. 150 aircraft were demonstrated or on show. But the Paris Air Show reaches beyond the aerospace sector. With 52,000 m² of booths, the show makes it easy for industrial players, whether manufacturers or users, to meet.
For Aubert & Duval, which achieves almost 60% of its turnover in aerospace, the show is a fantastic showcase for its industrial know-how. It’s above all an opportunity to welcome existing customers and meet new ones from all sectors in a spectacular, warm atmosphere. At its booth, Aubert & Duval featured some of its finest industrial creations as a supplier to world aerospace leaders such as Safran, Airbus, Dassault and Boeing. Several major A350 parts were on show, including a 7-meter, 1-ton aluminium-lithium batten (the part that joins the wing onto the fuselage). With around 20 other parts also exhibited, Aubert & Duval’s entire installation weighed more than 10 tons. For the first time the booth also featured two interactive terminals that let visitors find out more about Aubert & Duval’s know-how and activities.
At the end of the 2013 show, almost €115 billion in orders were announced for the aerospace sector, an amount that reflects the industry’s vitality and the ambitions of all of its players.
