In a world characterised by climate change and the growing scarcity of easily accessible, low-cost fuels, controlling energy costs and consumptions is fundamental for businesses. This applies to ERAMET, whose energy bill represents a significant share of production costs because of the processes it uses. In this context, the Executive Committee (COMEX) recently adopted a Groupe Energy policy to address economic and environmental concerns alike.

This policy’s adoption formalises ERAMET’s commitment to the optimisation of its energy competitiveness and performance, the continuous improvement of its energy management and the drive to reduce its activities’ environmental impact. It also aims to foster internal initiatives in this area, by taking technical and technological developments into account and turning regulatory requirements into opportunities for improvement. Moreover, it reflects the Groupe’s determination to be able to tap into potential savings, for example by using the best available techniques or developing new ones, or by recovering energy.

This Energy policy sets a framework for all of the Groupe’s entities that have to define their targets and action plans for energy cost control.
