The Academy of Technologies decided to visit Aubert & Duval’s new facilities as part of a tour in Auvergne (France) aimed at meeting innovating companies. On February 15th, 2013, 25 members of the Academy of Technologies thus visited two sites of this ERAMET’s subsidiary : Les Ancizes and Saint Georges de Mons. This was a great occasion for Aubert & Duval to share its savoir-faire with top-level industrial collaborators, who interface with decision-makers, public opinion, research and socio-economical stakeholders.
Welcomed by Mr. Hubert SCHAFF, Aubert & Duval’s Research and Development Director, these academicians had the opportunity to discover the IV30 vacuum furnace, inaugurated last October, and the UKAD plant (the result of the joint venture with UKTMP). This was a great opportunity for Aubert & Duval to present its engineering developments and its strategy in favoring innovation.
Created in 2000 and composed of 277 academicians from various backgrounds (engineers, manufacturers, R&D specialists, agronomists, architects, urban planners, doctors, sociologists, economists), the Academy of Technologies is a Think Tank for facing future technological challenges. Its members regularly collaborate with key players in the technological world in order to benefit from their experience and expertise. Wishing to grow richer in the knowledge of these experts, the Academy of Technologies recently appointed Patrick Buffet, ERAMET’s chairman and CEO, as one of its members.
