Gabon: Micro-Libraries for Six High Schools

Along the Trans-Gabon Railway, six high schools in Ntoum, Ndjolé, Booué, Lastourville, and Moanda have benefited since 2024 from the “Lire pour l’Avenir” project, developed with Bibliothèques Sans Frontières.
👉 6 hybrid micro-libraries equipped with Ideas Cube servers
👉 1,500 physical books and 4,000 microSD cards Kajou for smartphones
👉 Teachers trained to bring these new spaces to life

The results are already visible:

  • In Ntoum, library attendance has doubled
  • In Booué, digital tools are now integrated into French, math, and English classes
  • In Moanda, educational slam workshops are energizing learning

Challenges remain (power outages, lack of space, equipment security), but solutions are being co-developed with local authorities.
At the same time, 30 Gabonese high school graduates are once again benefiting this year from the YAM’NA scholarship program, led by Eramet Comilog.

Argentina: Sustainable Entrepreneurship as a Springboard

In northwest Argentina (San Antonio de los Cobres, Campo Quijano, La Silleta, Salta Capital), the “Semillero Emprendedor” program, led by Eramet Eramine, is fostering an entrepreneurial mindset among high school students.
In 2025, 92 students took part in hands-on workshops, mentoring, and group projects to develop positive-impact initiatives and strengthen their autonomy.

Eramet Eramine is also promoting equal opportunities:

  • Renewed partnership with Fundación Anpuyand the National University of Salta
  • 40 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds benefit from a scholarship program for secondary and higher education

Indonesia: Scholarships and Mentorship for Students

Since late 2024, in partnership with the NGO Kitong Bisa, Eramet has been supporting 40 students from remote regions (North Maluku, Papua, Sulawesi).

This program covers all expenses: tuition, housing, books, and daily living costs.

💬 Testimonial from Muhammad Zali Darmawan, engineering student in Jakarta:
“I am from South Sulawesi and study at the Faculty of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the University of Indonesia in Jakarta. Before, I worked part-time because in Indonesia, education is expensive. Since receiving the Eramet scholarship, all costs are fully covered. I can now focus more on my university studies. Once I graduate, I want to dedicate myself to my community and make a positive impact.”

Beyond financial support, Eramet Indonesia offers English mentoring sessions led by volunteer employees. So far, 18 online workshops have helped students make rapid progress in language skills. By the end of 2025, new modules (leadership, communication, sustainable project management) will further enrich the program.
