The aim is to build and operate the first European facility for recycling aviation grade titanium. Upon completion it should enable ERAMET to strengthen its position on the titanium market.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div  >\n<p><img class=\"lazyload\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27524%27%20height%3D%27256%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20524%20256%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27524%27%20height%3D%27256%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"https:\/\/www.eramet.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/eramet.com_breve_lancement_projet_ecotitanium_23janvier15_2-1.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>With a plant in Auvergne (France), EcoTitanium will provide the aerospace industry with a new titanium sourcing channel, enabling it to manage its supply better for this strategic raw material.<\/p>\n<p>Three shareholders are involved in the project:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukadforge.com\/about-us\/facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UKAD<\/a>, the project\u2019s industrial leader, with a 43.5% stake;<\/li>\n<li>The French state through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ademe.fr\/connaitre\/presentation\/contexte\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ADEME<\/a> (environment and energy management agency) under a stake acquired for the PIA investment programme, with 41.3%;<\/li>\n<li>Cr\u00e9dit Agricole Centre France regional bank (15.2%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ERAMET Groupe\u2019s participation in the project stems from a partnership between its subsidiary <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aubertduval.com\/markets\/aerospace\/integrated-solution-for-titanium-processing\/ecotitanium\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Aubert &#038; Duval<\/a>, specialised in upscale metallurgy, and the Kazakh company UKTMP, a world leader in titanium sponge production. Since 2011 the two companies have been operating a titanium forging plant through their joint venture <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ukadforge.com\/about-us\/facility\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">UKAD<\/a> in Auvergne (France).<\/p>\n<p>EcoTitanium addresses a major issue for Aubert &#038; Duval and the ERAMET Groupe. It will enable them to develop new markets and acquire skills in the recycling of titanium and other noble metals with the use of cutting-edge technologies.
