{"id":31430,"date":"2021-05-18T12:00:00","date_gmt":"2021-05-18T10:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.eramet.com\/non-classifiee\/lithium-ion-battery-recycling-in-europe-eramet-and-suez-step-up-their-cooperation-2\/"},"modified":"2021-05-18T12:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-05-18T10:00:00","slug":"lithium-ion-battery-recycling-in-europe-eramet-and-suez-step-up-their-cooperation-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.eramet.com\/en\/news\/lithium-ion-battery-recycling-in-europe-eramet-and-suez-step-up-their-cooperation-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Lithium-ion battery recycling in Europe: Eramet and Suez step up their cooperation"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"import2023\">\n<div class=\"chapo\">\n<\/div>\n<div  >\n<p>Christel Bories, Chairman and CEO of Eramet, and Bertrand Camus, CEO of Suez, signed an agreement on May 10, 2021 to expand their joint efforts in the area of recycling end-of-life electric vehicle batteries.<\/p>\n<p><iframe allow=\";\" allowfullscreen=\"\" frameborder=\"0\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LfnXY1WFrFM?rel=0\" width=\"640\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The two groups are already partners in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eramet.com\/en\/activities\/innovate-design\/relieve-project\">the European ReLieVe project<\/a> (Recycling Li-ion batteries for Electric Vehicle), which is due to finish at the end of 2021, and which will have resulted in the development of an innovative closed-loop recycling process for lithium-ion batteries.<\/p>\n<p>Through this agreement, Eramet and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.suez.com\/en\/who-we-are\/a-worldwide-leader\/our-ambition\">Suez<\/a> aim to pave the way for the next stages of industrial production by creating a partnership that combines the two groups&#8217; complementary expertise in all the key areas required for battery recycling.<\/p>\n<p>This partnership is intended to provide a high-performance, competitive and sustainable recycling solution for the European market, and it is designed to anticipate future European regulations for batteries, particularly in terms of process efficiency.<\/p>\n<p>Eramet and Suez intend to broaden this partnership to include other companies in the battery value chain in order to better address the challenges and opportunities that this market will generate in the years to come.
