SLN is the principal partner for the “Kanak Customs” exhibition held at Tjibaou Cultural Centre in Nouméa (New Caledonia) until May 16th, 2015. It opened on November 4th and will later travel around New Caledonia before setting up in Tokyo, Japan, then Maison de la Nouvelle-Calédonie in Paris in late 2015.

The event is supported by the MKVK network, standing for “Me ke kan djuu re ye”, which means “let us make our country grow”. This association works for New Caledonia’s sociocultural development. In addition to the exhibition, the project also includes a book by photographer and graphic reporter Sébastien Lebègue to be published in 2015.

After sponsoring with ERAMET the exhibition “KANAK, l’Art est une parole” at Quai Branly museum in Paris from October 15th, 2013 to January 26th, 2014, then at Tjibaou Cultural Centre from March 15th to June 15th, 2014, SLN’s support for this event reasserts its commitment to New Caledonia and its will to share the original culture of the country that has been host to the company for more than 130 years.
