Eramet launches telemedicine

In another pioneering move in occupational health, Eramet is setting up a long-distance medical consulting service.

A long-standing priority for the Groupe, occupational health at Eramet is being digitized with the establishment of the first teleconsultation room at the company's headquarters. Opened on April 9 by Christel Bories, Eramet's CEO, this new digital tool aims to modernize health in the workplace and to further improve the efficiency and quality of care provided to Eramet's 12,700 employees.

The remoteness of Eramet's mining sites and plants in New Caledonia, Gabon, Senegal, Argentina, Norway and Central France makes telemedicine a particularly interesting area of focus. Providing access to a health professional in difficult conditions is one way to reduce disparities in the level of care available within the company.

The setting up of the very first telemedicine room in Gabon, at the Marcel Abeke Hospital in Moanda, is currently being carried out with the help of Comilog, Eramet's Gabonese subsidiary. By the end of the year, employees working at the Moanda site, 600 km from the capital, will be able to seek the advice of a medical specialist without having to travel. For all the inhabitants of the region, this event promises to be a genuine revolution.
