ERACHEM COMILOG, an ERAMET Groupe subsidiary specialising in manganese chemical derivatives, celebrated the 50th year of its Tertre, Belgium plant this autumn. The unit marked the milestone by organising several events for a range of audiences.
For the occasion the unit welcomed Belgium’s then Prime Minister Elio di Rupo on October 3rd, 2014. ERACHEM Tertre’s management showed him and 30 or so manufacturers and local representatives around the plant.
Two days later, the unit opened its doors to its personnel’s families, with the help of 50 or so employees who volunteered to welcome visitors. Over the course of the day, 300 people learnt about the lifecycle of the plant’s products from design to manufacture (R&D, testing, industrial production). They were given an informative brochure and a newspaper setting out the plant’s history and followed a special path created for the event. The day will be remembered for some time to come.
