Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI)

Since 2018, Eramet has been involved in the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) as a partner member. This decision is aligned with the Group's drive to help improve best practices in the sector.

The RMI's goal is to implement a series of "reasonable diligence" measures regarding conflict minerals. This work involves conducting audits of foundries that supply 3TG (tungsten, tin, tantalum, gold).

What is the RMI?

The RMI was founded in 2008 as the Conflict Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI). It originally included cutting-edge electronics companies belonging to the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) and the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSi), now known as the Responsible Mineral Alliance (RMA). The aim of this global standard is to provide resources and tools to help businesses obtain conflict-free minerals.
