Career pathsProcess engineering
Improving, inventing, taking processes forward, revolutionizing production; making our manufacturing processes cleaner, more efficient and less energy-intensive.
Audrey, Engineer from INSA, Rouen, Process Engineering Option, Hydrometallurgy Engineer, Eramet Research, Trappes
”My task is to improve our knowledge of ore enrichment processes. Because mineral deposits have special features and tend to alter over time, we regularly need to develop new processes to extract metals. When our lab tests prove conclusive, I try to understand how and why they are successful in order to improve our approach.
At the outcome of this research, I have an initial idea of a possible process. I like the human dimension of this business; there’s a creative aspect that stimulates continuous improvement. We discover new ideas through communication and teamwork. Here, technology is central: we imagine it and we control it. The constant evolution of processes rules out routine.
Eramet opens fantastic perspectives for personal development, in my case in the lab, and I enjoy excellent visibility as regards my career path. Many of my colleagues have spent the major part of their careers in the Group, which is a good sign. Anyway, I’m a long-term-development person, so I totally share Eramet’s vision of the future.”
