Career pathsMaintenance and engineering
Ensuring dependability in production and investing to obtain the best return while respecting our men and women, their health and the environment.
Jean-Pierre, Engineer from UTT Troyes, Masters in Maintenance at Ensam ParisTech, Locomotive Maintenance Engineer, Comilog, Owendo (Gabon)
“I am responsible for the maintenance of the locomotives that transport ore over the 610 kilometers between Moanda and Libreville. With backup from our technicians, I take care of preventive and corrective maintenance for the locomotives in three areas: electronic, mechanical and thermal. I manage maintenance policy and I take action in advance, to forestall breakdowns. I like to analyze the behavior of machines in the face of external hazards; I enjoy managing projects from A to Z and seeing how my recommendations and decisions work out in practice.
Working at Comilog, a group subsidiary, I have the feeling of truly being a part of Eramet. We have projects in common, like continuous improvement for example. Eramet brings colleagues together from very different backgrounds; there are no barriers or limits between us. I studied in France and gained work experience with Eramet in Dunkirk before returning to my birthplace in Gabon. Eramet allows us to prove ourselves really quickly and likes us to share experience so we can widen our fields of expertise.”
