The ERAMET Research center plays the role of incubator within the ERAMET group. Young people with potential are hired here, to continue their careers in the Divisions and the various sites of the Group after a both technical and managerial career path of several years. They lead applied research projects by ERAMET Research, in Trappes, France. For this, they rely on a rigorous methodology and advanced technology and tools. These young men and women also benefit from the know-how passed on by their more experienced colleagues.
ERAMET Research, a Privileged Point of Entry in the ERAMET Group
ERAMET Research is a performance school where the young people hired discover all the facets of their profession.
The engineers and technicians of ERAMET Research are key players in the Group’s research and development projects. Integrated into a team steered by the department requesting the study, they ensure the attainment of defined technical objectives within the specified time frames.
To achieve this, they rely on specific methodology, ranging from document research to industrial application. This involves experimental laboratory methods, industrial pilot programs and advanced numerical simulation tools. The ERAMET Research site in Trappes therefore brings together all the components of an industrial site, on a reduced scale.
Thanks to the conducting of applied research projects and the use of a wide range of industrial tools, the employees quickly acquire experience and know-how in the Group’s professions. ERAMET Research thus constitutes a key area of staff competence, equipped with very concrete knowledge of the issues of the Mining and Metallurgy industry.
An Essential Channel for Integration
Within the incubator of ERAMET Research, young graduates develop their technical and scientific skills. Here they also acquire significant knowledge of the Group, its tools and its processes. Over the course of these first years in the research center, they acquire and put into practice safety management, project management and team management. All this knowledge is necessary for their integration and their subsequent career at ERAMET.
The career path at ERAMET Research is divided into three phases:
- On their arrival at Trappes, the young recruits follow an initial cycle of integration and apprenticeship.
- This is followed by a maturity period, during which they apply their knowledge extensively in R&D projects.
- Last of all is a capitalization period that comes before joining an industrial site. This is when, after several years in the business, the employee ensures that they pass on the know-how acquired over the course of the preceding years.
ERAMET Research also offers training, in the strictest sense of the word, via the Institut du Management du Groupe ERAMET – IMaGE (ERAMET Group Institute of Management), as well as external training.
