Protecting people’s health, keeping them safe and maintaining natural balances is a threefold, overarching goal for ERAMET Research. The company makes this commitment for the benefit of its employees and customers.
ERAMET Research continually updates risk analyses on the processes under development to ensure that the manufacture and use of the Group’s products continue to meet health requirements.
Whenever necessary, medical monitoring is organised for workers exposed to a particular risk. Examples include exposure to nickel (specific examinations of urine and/or blood) or ionising radiation (radioprotection equipment).
Keeping people safe
In addition to the sound training in safety that is needed to perform daily tasks, ERAMET Research shares a real safety culture with its people. This culture will support them throughout their development in the Group. From HAZOP and FMECA to root cause analysis, ERAMET Research masters every industrial risk appraisal methodology and decodes every incident, even the slightest, to drive continuous improvement. ERAMET Research regularly upgrades its safety setup with the aim of moving closer to "zero risk".
Respecting the environment
Avoiding and limiting its activities’ environmental impacts is more than an empty statement for ERAMET Research. All of its projects factor in this issue. In both pyrometallurgy and hydrometallurgy, the company works to develop industrial processes that respect the natural environments where its clients operate. This particularly involves optimising them to be more energy-efficient or reduce the carbon footprint of the resulting products.
"In 2014 and 2015, ERAMET Research’s technicians and research engineers received health & safety training. Regular modules on these issues are essential in maintaining high standards on specific subjects."
