The strategic transformation of ERAMET was intitiated in 2017. It reflects the Group's desire to develop through three areas :
- The long-term improvement in the profitability of our worst-performing assets, through significant intrinsic progress but also considering portfolio movements if they are deemed relevant,
- Organic and/or external growth, in trades where we have a real competitive advantage, particularly in the production of manganese ore. Thus, the Group aims to develop the Moanda deposit in Gabon, one of the best mines in the world, with long-term reserves. The objective is to eventually increase COMILOG production to about 5.8 Mt, with a transition to a new mining plateau from 2020. The year 2018 will be devoted to detailed pre-project studies and the amount of the overall investment is estimated at this stage at 450 millions euros. This growth will also be based on the renovation of the Transgabonais railway line launched by SETRAG, jointly with the Gabonese State,
- Enlargement of the portfolio, particularly towards metals for the energy transition, developing both in primary production and recycling.
